Warren Juran, Professional Engineer

Warren Juran is a principal DataPlex consultant with a wide range of experience in both hardware and software systems.  Mr. Juran is an expert in the application of computer methods to business and engineering problems.  He was involved in the U.S. Space Program and was one of the first to use IBM's APL language commercially and is internationally known as a leader in the development of computer application software.  In the 1970's, Mr. Juran developed the first commerical, network-based search engine.

Mr. Juran's experience includes responsible management positions in both data processing and engineering companies.  He is the author of many technical papers on computer software, database design, digital and analog computing, engineering, rocketry, and instrumentation.

Specifically, Mr. Juran is involved with management, feasibility research, modeling, systems analysis, hardware design and software development services.  As many engineering disciplines are interrelated, Mr. Juran's multidisciplinarian experience helps streamline the project timeline so that projects complete on time and on budget.

Mr. Juran provides consulting services and develops application software and databases using modern programming languages, databases, and tools such as C, C++, Visual Basic, Microsoft Access & Excel, Borland Delphi, PowerBuilder, Java, APL and various assembly languages.  Some recent software projects have included:

  • relational and SQL database applications
  • accounting, budgeting & financial modeling applications
  • factory scheduling, management and automation
  • order processing and fulfillment applications
  • computer graphics and color gamut analysis
  • engineering analysis and data acquisition systems
  • business process applications for medical & real estate industries

Mr. Juran has a wide range of electronic design experience.  From designing analog and digital circuits to the integration of hardware with software, some of the recent engineering projects Mr. Juran has worked on are:

  • 3D Systems' Stereolithography Rapid Prototyping System
  • DFR's Desktop Telecine System (film to digital media converter)
  • Semiconductor Automated Assembly Line Control System
  • Pressure Sensor and Analysis System
  • Aircraft and Spaceship HVAC Control Systems

Mr. Juran also provides intellectual property support so that clients can more easily and cost effectively obtain patent protection.
